ASI: What was your memory of Ron as a writer?

CARTIER: My memory of Ron Hubbard is always that he was a very intelligent man, a very prolific man. The scope of his work was beyond me. He was as amazing as the amazing stories I read.

I didn’t realize at first that he had that many different pen names. I knew Winchester Remington Colt; I knew that one. But I didn’t know that he had so many. It turned out he had fifteen or so.

It is unbelievable the amount of work that he did.

To me it was fantastic that the man had such a command of the English language that I didn’t. I spoke to him about it one time. I said, “I admire the writing that you’ve done.” He said, “I wish I could draw the way you do.” I felt it was an honor to hear him say that to me.
